The Los Alamitos High girls water polo team begins the CIF-SS Division 1 playoffs today at 3:15 p.m. at Costa Mesa High School.
The Griffins should have little trouble getting past the Mustangs today, but a win likely sets them up with a quarterfinal game against Corona del Mar on Saturday. Should that happen, the game would be at Corona del Mar High. The Sea Queens are the No. 3-seeded team in the division.
The Griffins and Sea Queens met twice this season with Corona del Mar winning both games by the scores of 5-4 and 10-8.
