The Los Alamitos City Clerk’s office released a statement on Wednesday that only three candidates had filed to run for City Council in the November Election. Incumbents, Troy Edgar and Warren Kusumoto field to run for re-election and newcomer Shelley Hasselbrink were the only three people to file papers to run. Mayor Gerri Graham-Mejia did not file and will therefore not seek a third term.
The City Council will meet on Wednesday and likely vote to appoint the three nominees to the open seats.
