A downed power pole along Orangewood Avenue was apparently the cause of a power outage in the neighborhoods adjacent to the school.
The downed pole was reported to Los Alamitos Police at approximately 8:16 a.m. firefighters from Orange County Fire Authority, Station 2 were called to the scene, as were crews from Southern California Edison.
The cause of the downed pole was under investigation, but it may have been knocked over by a construction crew.
“A County of Orange contract construction crew working in the flood control channel immediately north of the school, may have inadvertently knocked the electrical pole down with its heavy equipment,” Los Alamitos Police said in a released report.
The pole fell across Orangewood Avenue and damaged an SUV, but no one was injured. There was not estimated time of repair released as of 12:30 p.m.
